Project No. 5
A pretty little paper frock

Click here to download the silhouette image we'll use as a template for this project.

Using the template, cut out the "dress form"...there's no need to include the skirt part so just clip straight down after the bodice of the dress all the way to just before the feet of the dressform.

There are lots of ways to make the dress. I'll share how I made this layered skirt dress and maybe it'll inspire you to create your own.

From patterned paper, I cut just the skirt part of the dress using the template.

Then I cut out the complete dress, cutting out the shape of the top of the bodice freeform. I cut a slit straight up the skirt part of the dress and fanfolded it outward to create pleats.

I used a bit of antique lace along the bottom and a little flower at the waist.

Don't you wish you could try this one on? So pretty!

Paste it into your creativity journal. Maybe you'll be inspired to create a whole collection of these pretty frocks!

  8. I would find pictures of dresses that were decoupaged in a magazine that I had subscribed to and re-vamp them. I always have plenty of scraps, and they come in handy. I used lace, scraps of material and different emblelishments. How could I share these if i didn't have a web of my own? Thanks, 67 yr young greatgrandmothe
