Wrapped Candles

A project using Paper Lace from One Hundred Wishes

For this project, you'll need glass column candleholders (look in the glass aisle of your craft supply store). Also gather vintage sheet music, paint, masking tape, vintage paper lace, velvet ribbon (also available through One Hundred Wishes.com), and assorted embellishments.
Use a tape measure to measure the circumference of the glass candle holder. Cut a piece of sheet music long enough to wrap around the candle holder. You can make it as tall as you'd like. The light shines through the vintage paper with a nice glow so consider covering the entire candleholder. I used scallop scissors to edge the paper.

Adhere the paper to the candleholder. I ran the wrapper through the Xyron sticker maker.

Use masking tape to mark the area for a band of paint around the candle holder. Quick tip:To make the masking tape just a little less tacky, quickly press the tape to your jeans and pull off...the lint the tape collects will save your paper from tearing when you remove the paint.

Using watered down paint, carefully paint a band around, directly on the sheet music. Experiment with diluting the paint to get a nice transparent quality. The candlelight will shine through the paint too for a very nice effect. Remove masking tape and allow paint to dry.

Cut a length of paper lace according to the circumference of the candleholder. Adhere the paper lace to the column, directly over the painted area. I put the paper lace through my Xyron sticker maker...quick and easy!

Finish the candles with velvet ribbon and embellishments...pretty, pretty!
