Project No. 2
Flower Girls

Click here to download and print the paperdoll image. Resize, if desired, using your favorite graphics program.

Cut her out, being careful to cut around her arms and her pigtails. If you have your own paperdoll image you'd like to use, scan it in, resize it to fit in your Creativity Journal pages, and cut her out.
Next, gather up different silk flowers. Vintage millinery flowers are lovely to use. Look for different shape and sizes of petals. Consider how certain petals might do as skirts or sleeves or hats.

Pull apart the flowers and cut the petals away from the others, if necessary. Use your imagination to design a gown from your flower petals. Once you have a plan for how your dress will look, glue the petals in place. Glue dots work well since you don't have to wait for dry time.

Consider fashioning a hat from a petal or leaf.

Add jewels, bows and smaller flowers, if desired.

The fun of this project is in designing the gown. Take time to enjoy that process. Take inspiration from the blossoms. Make it as silly or as sophisticated as you like.

Either glue the paper doll in place in your journal, just as she is. Or create a backdrop for her. You can draw one or take one from a page in a book.

Make a tab for the page using a flower petal that you staple in place.
