They are sweet and fun and they look adorable on top of cupcakes or just presented on a platter. I've even dotted them onto a cheesecake... as a very manly cake decoration!

Ingredients
1 box of Vanilla wafer cookies
1 box of Nielsen peppermint patties (Canada) or 1 bag York mini peppermint patties (US)
1 container of prepared vanilla icing
sesame seeds
food colouring: red, yellow and green
white chopped coconut
equal parts white sugar and water, dissolved
paper towel, strainer, rolling pin
- tint a bowl of water with green food colour - we use "leaf green"

- pour the coconut into the green water, you can let it sit for a few minutes
- pour the green coconut through a strainer, squeeze out excess water!
- spread coconut on paper towel to dry
- roll orange starburst candy thin using a rolling pin
- cut the rolled candy into squares - you will get approximately four squares of "cheese" for each piece of candy

- layer with "patty", "cheese" and "ketchup"
- put the top "bun" on
- brush sugar water on the top "bun"
- sprinkle sesame seeds on the finished cookie

Nice! Love those little burgers.
ReplyDeleteMy niece and I have made these -- it's quite fun and unique.
