Money Soap
This is a super fun way to give a money gift, especially to a youngster. It'll give them incentive to wash up, that's for sure! The money floats in the soap, and, after the soap is used up, the money is ready to be spent!

For this project, buy a block of clear soap from the craft store. I used a clear olive soap kit (see photo). You'll also need plastic molds (also available at the craft store...or you can get creative and recycle things like cleaned milk cartons)Follow package directions for melting the soap. I like to use a glass measuring cup with a spout for easy pouring.
Pour the melted soap into the molds, filling only halfway. Set aside until it hardens (about 15 minutes)
Meanwhile, dip folded dollar bills into the melted soap...
Carefully squeeze the dollar bill to get the air out between the folds. Set aside to harden.
Place folded bill atop the half filled, now hardened soap.

Pour melted soap (you will have to melt it again) over the dollar to fill the mold to the rim.
If the dollar floats to the top, use a toothpick to hold it down. Use the same toothpick to pop any air bubbles that rise to the top.
Use this same technique to make all sorts of soaps, including ornaments (as shown below)...or think of how much fun it would be to put small toys, like bouncy balls, in the soap.
