Project by Charlotte Lyons
This is an easy project to put together for a hostess gift or perhaps a get-well or back door present. Simple materials from the cupboard and summer flowers from your garden finish it perfectly.

Clean an inexpensive or thrift shop glass floral vase.

With Mod Podge and a foam brush, cover it with torn pieces of gift tissue in a pretty color. Overlap the pieces and cover the whole vase. Coat the outside with Mod Podge too. When it isn't tacky anymore, use the heel of your hand to burnish it so that the edges flatten and the vase has a smooth-ish surface. Add more Mod Podge to glue down any loose edges.

Cut out flowers, centers and leaves from origami or colored copy paper. Paste these on randomly all around the bottom. Use slivers of green to decorate the neck, if desired. Use a hole punch to create black stamen dots and add these too. When dry, burnish all again.

After the vase is finished and dry, decorate the neck with ribbon, a sparkly clip-on earring and a tag. Fill with flowers and give - or keep.
