You can make this quick and easy gift for under $5. Search the tiles at your local home improvement store for something like the above chiaro style tiles.

Freehand cut designs from old bookprint, sheet music, etc. Or cut words and letters out to spell out a phrase.

Use a gold leaf pen to accent the edges.

Or fill in a shape with the gold leaf...like this heart.


Glue all the pieces into place and then cover generously with matte mod podge.

For cut out words or other small pieces, you may find it easier to lay down a bit of mod podge first and then place the letters...

And then add a layer or two of mod podge.




Another idea is to paint simple designs directly to the tiles...
